A Lupine Morning
June in Maine is synonymous with our Lupines blossoming everywhere along the coast. People drive Maine’s Route One from Portland to Bar Harbor to see the the blue, purple and pink blossoms filling the fields and dotting the sides of the road. Usually while I am in Stonington, I try to get out for an early morning run. As you run through the iconic downtown of the fishing village and go past the post office and harbor, you will see a winding turn to the left that continues to follow the shore line. As you go up the hill, this classic Maine farm house with a full field of Lupine comes in to view. Thankfully, I had my phone with me because the light was perfect. I captured the photo that morning. Later during the winter, I pulled the photo out and went to work in the studio. The original is in a collector’s home in Connecticut.
