I own a clothing store and art gallery in Falmouth, Maine.  In March of 2020 we,like so many businesses around the nation were forced to shut down due to Covid.  It was a stressful time for any business owner.  My business had been operating for over twenty years and we had never closed for more than one day and that was due to either a holiday or a snowstorm.  With time on my hands, I decided to experiment with abstract painting. I had purchased some larger canvases only a few months earlier.  As you can tell from my website, I had been painting land and seascapes for decades.  Now was my chance to try something new. I watched a few youtube videos, grabbed the canvas and some paint and went to work. I painted with my left hand and my right.  I dabbed color on and scraped it off.  Weeks later, my first abstract emerged. I called it Joy. It was a new bright spot in what was a very frightening time for all of us.  I hope you like it.  The original is 36 x 36 acrylic on canvas, but it is available online as a giclee print.  I also have a couple of limited edition prints in my studio which have hand-painted embellishments and are hand-signed.
