Peaks Island Sunrise

On an early fall morning, my husband an I hopped on the 5:30 am ferry from Portland Harbor to Peaks Island. We wanted to watch the sun come up over the islands in Casco Bay. It takes about fifteen minutes so when we first arrived at the ferry dock it was still dark. So we decided to go back and forth, back and forth three times. Third time was the charm. As we docked the sun was rising over the harbor and casting a pastel light show in the water and on the shore. My painting is my version of that moment.
