We are almost always in Stonington for the Summer Solstice.  That means one of the largest full moons of the seasons.  Many years we try to get out on the water in our sea kayaks to photograph the moonlight as it reflects on the water, islands and sea shore.  As you review my portfolio you will see I never get tired of painting Stonington.

For the past year I ave experimented with what the full glorious moon does as it reflects on the water and into the iconic Maine Harbors. There is nothing more romantic, than grabbing my husband's hand and heading down to the shore where our sea kayaks sit on the rack he made in front of our house.  The night is quiet, the water flat and the moon is shining.  When we spend the week in Stonington for the summer solstice, the moonlight over the harbor is indescribable. That is what I tried to capture here.
