Stonington Spring Flowers was originally painted as an acrylic on canvas. This is one of the originals that the artist keeps in her private collection. It has been shown in a NY gallery and giclee prints have found their way into collections around the country. Marcia spends the third week of June in Stonington, Maine, the iconic lobster fishing village at the end of the Blue Hill peninsula. The third week is often magical. The lupines are in full bloom and the perennials are all creating a rainbow of color around the island. It is wonderful to see the wildflowers and lilacs, and lilies and tulips and daffodils pitching their color into the light. This is one of Marcia’s favorite views as you drive past the post office through the town.
