Marcia lives on Cousins Island in Maine.  One fall morning at mid-tide she circumnavigated the island.  She went at mid tide because once the water empties out she cannot get around the island.  The north side of Cousins faces Little John Island, another iconic Maine island connected to Cousins by a very small bridge.  As she was passing Little John, the afternoon light casts kaleidoscope of color against the granite rocks.  She was inspired to attempt to capture it in a more abstract manner.
