About ten years ago, Marcia spent Columbus Day Weekend on Monhegan Island. It was the first time she had been there. That is surprising because artists have gravitated to Monhegan for centuries.  It was early morning, the sky was yellow and the water a very cold and bright Cobalt Blue.  She was working outside with pastels on archival paper and wanted to get most of the painting done before the light changed. it changed alright… to rain.  She grabbed the easel, paper and paints and made a run for it.  But when she got it home from the ferry ride, she was surprised how much she liked it
